We’ve Landed!

Paris In July 003

Paris in July is here for another year!

After a few flight delays and a bus ride from the airport I am checking into my accommodation…

plaza ParisOk, I’m not actually in Paris – but my parents are and the above photo is of their accommodation on the Place De La Republique. So let me dream just a little and imagine that I am unpacking my bags and about to have my first glass of wine…

Back in reality I am preparing for my virtual trip to Paris with my lovely co-hosts for the month, Tamara, Adria, Vicki, Meredith and Nichole. If you want some more information about what  Paris in July is all about please look here.

If you head over to Tamara’s blog she has an overview of what the week holds for you. I will be back on Wednesday with my review of Adria’s Paris based novel but until then enjoy all that Paris has to offer!

Are you joining us for Paris in July? Please leave a comment below and let me know how you will be celebrating all things French this first week.

Bonjour! This week, I will be escorting some close friends who are first-time visitors to Paris all around our lovely city. So I get to play tour guide! That’s always a fun way to celebrate Paris… I hope your parents have a great time. They are staying at a good, central location. And the Place de la Republique has been recently renovated.

It must be so lovely to play tour guide! I do like to do that in my city too, although it is not quite as glamorous and exciting as Paris!!

Even though I’m in Paris, I’m going to pretend I’m staying at your parents’ hotel too – it’s super swanky! Here’s my plan for this week: get my 8-week-old daughter’s French passport, exchange some baby clothes at H&M, and write. Could I be more boring? Let’s try this again. This week I’m going to stroll around the streets of Paris with my 8-week-old baby in her stroller and Friday afternoon I’m meeting up with a fellow English-speaking author in Paris for a drink. There. That’s better :)

Sounds perfect Sharon! I always worry about being such a tea fan when we are “visiting” Paris – but I’m glad I have at least one tea lover with me!

I was fortunate enough to visit Paris in July, 2011 … but no such luck this year.
I am thrilled this blog event is being offered again, and I hope to participate several times throughout the month.

My first post should be a look at all the windows of Paris – such character and beauty!
